Holidays In Your Country




Ÿ  Holidays bring a break from one’s work.
Ÿ  They break the monotony to day to day life.
Ÿ  India is a diverse country.
Ÿ  There are many holidays in India.
Ÿ  There are national holidays like the Independence day on 15th August, the Republic day on 26th January and the Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October.
Ÿ  Then there are local or public holidays on each state like Lohri in Punjab, Baisakhi in Punjab, Onam in Kerala, Pongal in Tamil Nadu and so on.
Ÿ  Apart from that there are school holidays like summer and winter vacations.
Ÿ  There are also holidays related to religions like Diwali, related to Hindu, Gurupurabs for Sikhs, Christmas for Christians and Id for Muslims.
Ÿ  No doubt India is a diverse country but people spend all theses religious event together.
Ÿ  So, there is unity in diversity in India.
Ÿ  People spend their holidays in a number of ways.
Ÿ  Some relax at home and do their pending works.
Ÿ  Some go to hill stations.
Ÿ  Some go to religious places.
Ÿ  Some go to beaches.
Ÿ  Some go to historical places.
Ÿ  Young people also like white water rafting and bungee jumping.
