Shift work

Shift work is not a new thing.
Many departments have been working in shifts from ages.
For instance, health department and police department
We also have night trains and buses.
Even manufacturing industries have been working in shifts to increase production.
But today, we belong to a 24/7 society and so shift work has become very-very common.
All these call-centres and other MNCs are working round the clock
Shift work has many advantages
To students, it gives the opportunity to earn while they learn.
To some people it gives the opportunity to look after family commitments/responsibilities
Also, those people who need more money can work two shifts a day
People can also do some side business
On the other hand, shift work has some negative points
The sleep pattern of persons working in shifts is disturbed
This can lead to health problems like hypertension and depressions.
By working at unsociable hours, the family life is also disturbed.
So we can see that as every garden has weeds, similarly, shift work has both, pros and cons
But on the whole pros are much more
Shift work is here to stay
There is simply no going back.
